The name Selenite comes from ancient Greek, meaning Moon and MoonGlow. The gypsum based crystal acts as a natural fiber optic network for light.
Being that Selenite is a fragile stone, it will dissolve in water over time. It is not recommended to wash under running water or leave outside in the rain. Unless you wanted some small rough pieces to supercharge your food garden, as it slowly melts into the soil.
All of our Selenite is sourced and hand carved by family and local villagers in Morocco. We only buy once a year when they come to the USA with their creations, to lower any carbon emissions. This is the highest quality Selenite we have seen in years. It maintains the optical clear as well as the striations that are naturally occurring in this amazing crystal.
